| Artist's Comments: | This painting was created to celebrate a 10 km race in which I
won my first gold medal. Coincidently, the sunflowers were in glorious full bloom and beckoned me with their textural colours. This piece began my macro flower series, all done with sculpted acrylic on hardboard. These pieces are virtually waterproof and are suitable for outside(unframed) or inside (framed) ie bathrooms, kitchens,sunrooms etc-areas usually not suitable for fine art. This piece won the "People’s Choice Award" in the annual 2005 Gabriola Island art show. The art dimensions include the frame-a gold leaf wooden frame with a linen liner. Everyone likes to touch these pieces, as the texture just beckons them. |
