Biography: |
| | I was born in Germany and immigrated with parents to Toronto in 1955,where I later worked as a teacher for 20 years. I came to B.C. in 1990, settling in White Rock, where I worked for 10 years as a school counsellor in Surrey. I moved to Gabriola, “Isle of the Arts”, in 1997 as a weekend resident resulting in retirement in Dec 2001.
Retirement bought with it a new focus on self-expression and creativity on many levels. It was finally time to explore my suppressed love of art. I enroll in many art courses annually including mixed media, collage and acrylic. Currently, I reside in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island where I continue to explore new directions. Current Focus and Goals : I have decided to work with larger acrylic expressions of my evolving world views as my spirituality deepens and matures. I continue to explore traditional acrylic, watercolour monoprint, and collage techniques. Non-traditional approaches includes heavily sculpted acrylic on hardboard, finished with an all- weather varnish, making it the perfect choice for humid environments, like kitchens, bathrooms, sunrooms, porches etc. Recent themes are more spiritual abstractions of my evolving world views. I sell originals only-framed or unframed, worldwide! |
